Operations Manager / Director, Institutional Product
Job Description
Who We Are
About The Opportunity
The role is centered around building durable operational frameworks and driving continuous process optimization across these business lines, converting disparate workflows into a coherent, instrumented, and scalable operating system.
You will combine deep operational fluency with data and AI-assisted tooling to surface gaps, codify methodologies, and compound incremental improvements into measurable operational leverage and revenue growth.
As a high-influence individual contributor with no direct reports, you will set the operational standard that the broader institutional team works to.
What You’ll Be Doing
-
Own and run daily operations across multiple institutional business lines — Custody, Brokerage, FD Broker, CaaS, RBAC, KYC, incentive programs, and Fees — managing internal stakeholders (RMs, sales, product, compliance, risk) and external institutional clients across email, Telegram, and internal messaging portals with SLA discipline.
-
Identify operational gaps and growth opportunities using data analytics and AI-assisted workflows. Translate findings into concrete optimisation and automation initiatives with measurable impact on SLA, error rate, ticket volume, and client experience.
-
Design scalable operational frameworks for complex institutional scenarios: Client incentive program, fee tier and rebate administration, RBAC change requests, custody onboarding/withdrawal workflows, and cross-jurisdictional regulatory adherence (HK/SG/EU/US).
-
Drive both incremental and strategic optimisation in parallel — Ship small ops improvements continuously while owning a longer-term ops roadmap that compounds operational leverage, retires manual toil, and unlocks revenue growth.
-
Build and deliver structured training for RMs and institutional clients on product mechanics, operational SOPs, and self-serve tooling. Act as the methodology owner whose playbooks the broader institution team adopts.
What We Look For In You
-
6+ years of operations experience in institutional financial services, crypto exchange, prime brokerage, or fintech — Possess hands-on ownership of at least two of: custody, brokerage, KYC/KYB, Incentive programs.
-
Demonstrated ability to operate as an individual contributor with high influence — Able to align product, sales, compliance, and risk on operational changes without formal authority.
-
Strong data fluency: comfortable with building dashboards, and using AI tooling (LLM workflows, automation agents, no-code/low-code platforms) to streamline and scale operations at meaningful volume.
-
Track record of identifying operational gaps, designing scalable solutions, and shipping measurable improvements — Bring concrete evidence of methodologies you have authored and that were adopted by your team or function.
-
Proven stakeholder management across written channels (email, Telegram, internal portals) with institutional counterparties; comfortable navigating high-stakes interactions under time pressure.
-
Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks affecting digital asset institutional services across HK, SG, and broader APAC; awareness of EU (MiCA) and US considerations a plus.
Nice-To-Haves
-
Prior experience at a crypto exchange, traditional prime broker, custodian, or institutional liquidity provider.
-
Hands-on experience with Python or other scripting for ops automation, data wrangling, or workflow orchestration.
-
Experience designing and running operational training programs for revenue-facing teams (RM, Sales, BD) and external institutional clients.
-
Understanding of orderbook mechanics, market making programs, institutional fee structures, and custody/settlement workflows.
-
Exposure to building or operating an internal ops portal, ticketing system, or workflow engine at scale.
Perks & Benefits
-
Competitive total compensation package
- L&D programs and education subsidy for employees' growth and development
-
Various team building programs and company events
- Wellness and meal allowances
- Comprehensive healthcare schemes for employees and dependants
- More that we love to tell you along the process!
